1951年生れ。オランダ、ナチュラリス生物多様性センター植物部門コレクション・マネージャー。植物標本管理マネジメント。著書に『The history of the Herbarium Japonicum Generale in Leiden』（その主要部分を本書で訳出）、『The remarkable P. F. B. von Siebold, his life in Europe and Japan』（共著）等がある。
